Can I enroll in your school even if I am not a Catholic?
We accept students of all faiths at St. Aloysius Catholic School. Students that are enrolled in the school take part in Catholic faith formation, say daily prayers and partake in other aspects of the faith as it is woven throughout the curriculum. Kindergarten through Grade 8 students will participate in prayers and Mass as part of our school community.

Does my child have to be potty trained to enroll is preschool?
Yes, children in our preschool program need to be completely potty trained.  No pull-ups are allowed.  While we know young children will have occasional accidents, he or she should be able to recognize the need to use the bathroom.  For more information on this subject consult our Student Handbook, page 8.

Can I choose specific days of the week for the preschool program?
We offer Tue/Thur, Mon/Wed/Fri and M-F options.

My child’s birthday falls after the cut-off.  Can he or she enroll in kindergarten?
We will consider fall birthdays for Kindergarten enrollment provided the student has a successful screening and has a note of readiness from their pediatrician and preschool teacher.

Do you have a school lunch program?
Students bring a NUT-free snack and lunch from home.

What are the hours of the school day?
Drop off in the morning is between 7:20 and 7:30 am. The school day goes until 2:30 pm with an after school program until 5:30 pm for a nominal fee of $5.00 per hour billed to the quarter hour.

Can my child take the bus?
Students who live in the villages of Hardwick may be able to utilize bus transportation through the Quabbin Regional School District.  Please inquire at the office.

Is there a school nurse?
Yes, We have a school nurse Monday through Friday from the start of the school day through lunch recess.

Do you have recess?
Yes, one in the morning and another after lunch.

Do you teach cursive?
Yes, children have a handwriting program though 6th grade.

Can a child with an Individualized Education Program (IEP) enroll?
Please call the office and send a copy of the IEP for examination.
